President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, officially swore in the Code of Conduct Bureau Chairman, Abdullahi Bello Musa.

The President swore in the new Code of Conduct Bureau Chairman during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja.

Naija News recalls the 10th Senate, under the leadership of Godswill Akpabio, had in July, confirmed the appointment of Abdullahi Bello as Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau under section 154 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

Bello’s appointment was confirmed following the submission of a report from the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions, Sen. Imasuen, Neda Bernards (Edo South).

His confirmation comes after he was appointed by President Bola Tinubu in March, and he was screened by the Senate.

While appearing before the committee, Bello had promised to make the country proud in discharging his duties at the bureau.

He said, “The work is about ensuring integrity, transparency and accountability among public and civil servants.”

Bello has more than 25 years of work experience in consulting, banking, law enforcement, financial services, and academia.

Bello replaces Aliyu Kankia, who has been the acting Chairman of the Bureau.
