Abdullahi Imrah, a councillorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kafachan Ward B of Jema’a Local Government Area and the Kaduna State’s Labour Party (LP) chairman, Isah Chiroma, have dumped their respective parties to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Naija News reports that their decision comes in anticipation of the Kaduna local government election set for Saturday, October 19, 2024.

During the campaign launch and the presentation of flags to the councillorship candidates, Chiroma expressed that the inclusive governance approach of Senator Uba Sani, along with the infrastructural advancements in Southern Kaduna, inspired his decision to align with the APC in efforts to advance the state.

In a similar vein, Imrah indicated that despite the proximity of the elections, he chose to leave the PDP and collaborate with Peter Tanko in the APC to contribute to the nation’s progress collectively.

The deputy governor, Dr Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, welcomed the new members and commended their decision to join what she termed the winning team, assuring them of their inclusion in future endeavours.

Regarding the upcoming election, she noted that the significant turnout of supporters suggests that the APC is poised for success while also urging party members to maintain decorum during the electoral process.

Peter Tanko Dogara, the APC chairmanship candidate for Ja’mma Local Government Council, addressed the media, promising the residents of Jemaa that they would witness the benefits of democracy through effective governance and transparency.

“I have a lot of things for the community. The issues of security, health, investment, and empowerment are paramount to the community, and these are things that we are looking for,” he said.
