Power has been restored to parts of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) service areas following a significant outage on Monday evening, impacting numerous regions in Nigeria.
The power disruption, attributed to a national grid collapse, affected areas including Dei-Dei, Suleja, Lugbe, Kuje, and nearby locations.
Electricity supply was restored to some of these areas by early Tuesday morning around 5:15 a.m., alleviating concerns for residents impacted by the blackout.
AEDC had previously alerted its customers about the service interruption, clarifying that the issue stemmed from a grid collapse.
In an update shared on its X handle, AEDC stated the collapse occurred at approximately 6:58 p.m. on Monday.
“Be rest assured that we are working with relevant stakeholders to restore power as soon the grid stabilises,” AEDC assured its customers in the message.
