The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Debo Ologunagba, has slammed the party over reports announcing his suspension.
Naija News reports that this comes after PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) said Ologunagba and the party’s National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade, were suspended over allegations of disloyalty and insubordination levelled against them.
A statement signed by the PDP National Director of Publicity, Chinwe Nnorom, also noted that the PDP national working committee has directed that the suspended officers face a disciplinary committee for investigations headed by the PDP’s Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja.
Responding to the suspension, Ologunagba, in an interview with Channels TV, said he and his group were “fighting a just course for the survival of the party”.
He, however, failed to mention the names of the NWC members on his side, stressing that the party’s NWC is factionalised, with some members on his side and others on the side of the acting national chairman, Illiya Damagum.
Ologunagba argued that his suspension cannot stand, noting he has never been confronted by any party organ nor attended any meeting where the allegations against him were brought up.
He denied attending the meeting, where the decision to suspend him was made.
He alleged that the interests of the acting national chairman and his supporters were doing more harm to the party.
