“Speed Darlington has privately reached out to Burna Boy to extend an olive branch” Lawyer reveals
Darlington Achakpo, better known as Speed Darlington, has reached out to fellow musician Damini Ogulu, known as Burna Boy, over a video he released that led to his detention.
Speed Darlington was detained after Burna Boy filed a petition against him for insinuating in a video that he and Sean “Diddy” Combs had an unholy alliance.
Following Darlington’s release from detention, his lawyer, Stan Alieke, shared a statement on social media, clarifying the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In the statement, Alieke explained that Speed Darlington’s videos, which stirred controversy, were intended purely for entertainment, with no aim to defame or insult anyone.
Addressing the comments about Burna Boy’s mother, Alieke emphasized that Speed Darlington holds his own mother in high regard and never intended any disrespect. He stated that the remarks were taken out of context and were unintentional.
To make amends, Speed Darlington personally reached out to Burna Boy and his team in a gesture of goodwill, offering further clarification and an apology.
“Our client has privately reached out to his colleague and his team in the spirit of brotherhood and extension of an olive branch and to offer further clarification in person to him,” the statement concluded.
