The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) has released a strong disclaimer refuting reports that its Chairman or his associates had filed a lawsuit against the party in Gusau, Zamfara State.

Naija News reports that the denial was made public in a statement issued by the Director General of the PDP-GF, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo, from Abuja on Tuesday.

Recall that reports had alleged that individuals linked to the Bauchi Governor had approached the Federal High Court in Gusau seeking an interim injunction to force the PDP to hold its National Executive Council meeting as scheduled. However, the court denied the request.

It is noteworthy that last week, PDP Governors had called on members involved in court cases against the party to withdraw them to foster reconciliation.

Clarifying, Dr. Agbo said, “The attention of the PDP Governors’ Forum, led by His Excellency, Senator Bala Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State, and all member Governors of the Forum, has been drawn to an online report claiming that the Bauchi Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum filed a case at the Federal High Court in Gusau, seeking an ex parte order to compel the convening of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

“We categorically state that neither the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum nor any proxy acting on his behalf has any connection with the mentioned lawsuit.

For emphasis, our teeming supporters and all Nigerians are urged to ignore the false claim that the Chairman of the Forum or any of its members instigated any legal proceedings about the above.”

The statement urged supporters and the general public to disregard the false allegations and branded the report as “dubious, malicious, and aimed at tarnishing the image of Governor Bala Mohammed.”

In a related development, a Federal High Court in Abuja recently issued an injunction preventing the PDP’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and Board of Trustees (BoT) from removing Acting National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, from office until December 2025, following a case brought by party members in Yobe State, his home state.
